Does anyone know about Hoover Dam Tours?

My wife and I are planning a trip to Vegas this summer and are looking for some sightseeing tours and are not planning to rent a car as we are staying on the Strip.
Specifically, are they a good deal? Or, would it be better to rent a car for a day? (We will be there for three days)

We took a tour that our hotel recommended - off the top of my head, I don’t remember the name of the company but it was about $40/ person for maybe 6 hours, where we were driven out to the Dam, got a tour of it and then had some time to wander on our own. On the way back, we stopped at Ethel M’s chocolate factory, which was fun. You don’t really need a car unless you want to spend a lot of time there - and, seriously, the Hoover Dam in the middle of the day in summer is not somewhere you want to linger too much!

vegas.com will give you the complete price on the tour that you want.
in additon l live out here and see the shuttles taking people out to the dam all day long.
When I was a vistor when there and enjoyed it greatly.
Now I live here and do other stuff. Red Rock. … Bar hopping and just try to deal with the price of gasoline

Ahh, this brings back memories…. Me and my friends always loved the dam tour, the dam souvenirs, the dam brochures that the dam tour guides give you….good times….

I would rent a car for the day because their are lots of sights that will be fun to stop at between the strip and the Dam… like red rock canyon… and I know when we went we stopped and took pictures at the welcome to the hoover dam sign and we stopped when we saw random donkeys and stuff on the side of the road… the tour is really fun… enjoy
